Place listings combine two sources: live data from OpenStreetMap (queried in your browser as you search) and a hand-curated set of well-known DMV halal spots so results appear instantly. Mosque and community-event information is pulled live from the masjids' own public websites.

About halal accuracy

We mark places as "Verified halal" when OpenStreetMap explicitly tags them diet:halal=yes, and "Likely halal" when the cuisine is listed as halal. Listings can be incomplete or out of date — always confirm halal status directly with the business before relying on it.
